Unfortunately, quite a few EU residents are looking for work in another part of Europe. Adrift due to poor economic conditions in their native countries. A few end up in the Netherlands, which is often Amsterdam. They usually find a harsh reality here: no work, no pay, no shelter. The government considers them non-beneficiaries: no right to benefits, care and housing. Extra difficult is that many speak only their native language. From this combination not infrequently follows a downward spiral, with psychological and other problems as a result. AMOC has a specific offer for this vulnerable group of foreigners. During the day they receive shelter in the walk-in at the Stadhouderskade. There is also a limited night shelter that guarantees 24-hour care in a crisis situation.
