Psychiatry buddy
The Regenboog is committed to helping people with psychiatric problems who feel lonely and in need of contact. We do this with buddy contact between a volunteer psychiatry buddy and a participant.
For six months to a year, a buddy couple hangs out together. They go for a cup of coffee, play a game, go to the library or a museum, walk together, etc. But they also practice doing things that can be exciting. When putting together the couple, we take into account what the participant can and wants to achieve. We also match a couple as much as possible based on common interests.
Participating in the neighborhood
In the neighborhoods there is all kinds of things for residents to do. Think of eating groups, courses, creative walk-in, computer classes, yoga. Sometimes going there alone is too high a threshold. Then a buddy can offer a solution. The contact is then aimed at exploring together the offerings in the neighborhood and going there together. The Regenboog itself also offers activities such as the Connect-Café and a coffee hour that couples can make use of. You can find announcements in our calendar.
