Temporary housing
With our Temporary Housing projects, we try to prevent homelessness. We do this by giving people who have become homeless a temporary place to live. There they catch their breath and start looking for their own permanent place to live with social workers. De Regenboog Groep has four Temporary Housing projects.
Who are our Temporary Living projects for?
There is increasing talk of a group that is economically homeless. People who can get their lives back on track without too much help, and especially need support in finding a place to live. These are people who cannot claim shelter, and with a little help from social work and a temporary place to live, can get life back on track.
Our Temporary Housing projects are designed for people who are able to live together and keep their own household running. In fact, in all of our projects you will live with a roommate. Of course, it is not always easy to live together. Therefore, a lot of attention is paid to the process of matching roommates. Thereby, it is important to know what you expect from each other and how to share the front door with each other in a pleasant way.
What do we do?
From De Regenboog Groep, we try to prevent the downward spiral of homelessness with our transitional housing projects. Using temporary solutions and support, we work to find a structural solution, one that can be both inside and outside of Amsterdam. The longer people are without permanent housing, the faster the problems can mount - people can lose their jobs, accumulate debt or fall into social isolation. To stop this downward process, we try to find temporary housing solutions for a minimum of 9 months and a maximum of 12 months, to give people space to rebuild their future in peace. They do this with the help of support from De Regenboog Groep.
Where do we do this?
We work in Amsterdam and Amstelland (Amstelveen, Ouderamstel, Aalsmeer, Diemen and Uithoorn) and Haarlem and the surrounding area (Beverwijk, Bloemendaal, Heemstede, Zandvoort, Heemskerk, Haarlemmermeer and Velsen).
